Howlyn Cattery - Our Kittens - Current Litter - April 6, 2003

April 6, 2003

Howlyn Cattery kicks up the technology a notch. Tonight, we have a video recorded in DV (digital video) and encoded as a Windows Media Audio/Video file. This probably doesn't mean much to you, other than that the finished product looks so much better than the earlier videos on this site. On the other hand, you will probably need to use Windows Media Player to play it, which you probably are already using. You can even view this full screen and it still looks great! Ain't technology grand?

As fas as what the video shows, look for the actions of the adult cats that you see in this scene. We have found that many times, the adults go into a sort of "guard mode", where they watch the kittens play, and make sure that no one gets lost or hurt. Very interesting stuff. And this is occurring on cats that never saw young kittens before. Very much an instinctual thing.

[If you don't already have it, you should be able to download the Microsoft Player needed to play this video by clicking on the frame below. The clip should play right in this page. If this doesn't work for you, download the video by clicking here and play it back on a compatible player, such as Microsoft Media Player (click here for a free download). This video is encoded as an WMP, with the following specs: codec=WMEncoder20291, 282 Kbs rate VBR, 29.96 fps, resolution=320x240. Also, if you are on a slow connection, be very patient. This video is 28.1 MB in size. Enjoy.]
